This cosy bothy is well positioned just a short distance from the village of Longtown on the Herefordshire/Wales border and within striking distance of the Black Mountains. Well known for its 12th Century Norman castle Longtown also has a good local inn an award winning village store which pays particular attention to buying local produce. The area is rich in wildlife and is perfect for both walkers and cyclists - much of the best walking in the area is straight from your doorstep. Explore the Black Mountains and join Offa s Dyke (the border between England and Wales) taking you deep into the countryside. Local market towns include Abergavenny with a regular farmers market on the last Thursday of the month and its famous annual food festival in mid-September Crickhowell nestled in the Usk Valley and Hay-on-Wye with its renowned annual literary festival. Go further afield for cities of Hereford and Cardiff Step inside this neat little bothy. Light the wood burner kick back and stretch your legs in front of the fire nestle down into the comfy Lloyd loom chairs and pick up your favourite book. The handcrafted oak kitchen is a great space for a whipping up a hearty supper. There is an electric oven and hob and fridge. A handy fold away table for two sits just below the window and fold up dining chairs live behind the front door. The shower room with WC is on the ground floor. When you re ready for bed climb the wooden ladder up to the bedroom in the eaves. Snuggle down under the duvet and flick the switch for your favourite TV show. Weather permitting enjoy breakfast on the patio and allow yourself to slow down. There is a lawn area with a garden bench to sit and enjoy the countryside views also a charcoal BBQ. Off-road parking for two cars.
