The seaside resort is sometimes known as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’; a fossil-rich area with stunning sandy beaches. There is an abundance of shops and eateries to spend the day exploring. Head to the quaint town of Sidmouth (17 miles) with its lovely beach surrounded by towering cliffs. The picturesque village of Branscombe is 12 miles away and the National Trust’s Branscombe Forge is an interesting attraction to visit.
