There are numerous independent shops, boutiques and art galleries, and you can enjoy coastal walks to nearby Tankerton and Seasalter (both 1.5 miles). Whitstable also has a mile-long stretch of shingle beach lined with colourful beach huts. You can explore the 18th century Whitstable Castle (1 mile), enjoy the beautiful Tankerton Beach (1 mile), visit the lovely seaside town of Herne Bay (6 miles) or follow the Crab and Winkle Way which leads to the historic city of Canterbury (7 miles).
