Unpack your provisions in the spacious kitchen/diner where fresh tones and natural light create a calming ambience for cooking. With all you need to rustle up feasts, the kitchen has a dishwasher to help with clearing up post-dinner.

Plate up at the table or step up and out to the patio for an al fresco meal with sundowner drinks. From the patio, step up again and onto the lawn where little ones can play to their heart's content. If there's a chill in the air or you fancy a quiet evening in front of the TV, fire up the wood burner which sits in a gorgeous, stone fireplace, and settle on the sofa.

The perfect spot for a morning mug of coffee or an afternoon of games, head into the conservatory which is brilliantly light and warm on balmy days. With one single bedroom on the ground floor, one on the first floor, and a double and a king-size on the first floor, head to bed in one of four pretty bedrooms to rest your head after long days.

Take care on the steep cottage-style stairs and make use of the stairgate if little ones are holidaying with you. Close to home, head out and visit the magnificent remains of Corfe Castle, less than half a mile from your door. From Corfe Castle, tread the Purbeck Ridgeway walk all the way to Swanage, a hike of 9 miles which winds past Old Harry Rocks.

Alternatively, hop on the Swanage Railway from the local station to visit the golden sands and delicious eateries which await. For a refreshing dip in a tidal pool, head to nearby Dancing Ledge (4.5 miles).
