Also on the ground floor is a shower room with a walk-in shower. Climb the cottage-style stairs to reach two bedrooms – a king-size with nature views and a twin room. Outside is a small, enclosed garden with a lawn and patio with furniture, surrounded by shrubs and trees. During your stay in the sleepy village of Syderstone, you could start your day with a walk around the Syderstone Common nature reserve (1 mile).

Here you can explore the Scolt Head Island National Nature Reserve (10 miles) or follow the coastal path from Burnham Overy Staithe (10 miles). Spend a day at the 25,000-acre Holkham Estate (13.5 miles) – home to a boating lake, deer park and stately home.

At low season you can take Fido to Holkham Beach (13.5 miles) or Wells-next-the-Sea Beach (16 miles) is canine-welcoming all year round.
