Some 4.5 miles from the West Wales coastal town, which overlooks Bae Ceredigion, the six-bedroom retreat sleeps 14 guests, making it ideal for two or three families together or a group of friends.

Complete with a swim-spa, games room and delightful garden with views, it is a wonderful place to kick back and relax after exploring your beautiful surroundings. Step inside to find accommodation that still features rustic touches, such as exposed stonework and beams, but which also offers you every comfort.

Light the open fire in the lounge/diner then gather in here on winter evenings to watch the Smart TV or play games together. Challenge each other to a pool or table football tournament in the games room and whip up delicious meals to enjoy together through in the kitchen/diner. There is also a WC downstairs and a bedroom with a small double bed and en-suite wet room.

Climb the stairs to your remaining bedrooms, which include two doubles, both with TVs and one with an en-suite shower room, a single bedroom and two family rooms. One family room has one king-size and two single beds, plus a TV, while the other has one double and one single bed, plus an en-suite shower room.

There is also a lovely family bathroom. Spread out into the garden on fine days. Dine out in the sunshine, bubble in the swim-spa and enjoy a glass of chilled wine in the summer house. Head into Aberystwyth to spend time on the beach, wander round the shops and choose between an array of eateries.

Visit the castle, follow a section of the Ceredigion Coast Path or take a journey along the narrow-gauge, heritage Vale of Rheidol Railway.
