Travelling further afield, either by foot or by car, you can discover other highlights: more picturesque waterfalls such as Hardraw Force (1 mile); market town Hawes, the home of Wensleydale cheese (9 miles); and the quirky, award-winning attraction, The Forbidden Corner, with its labyrinth of tunnels and chambers (1 mile). Once you've admired the pretty stone exterior, you will step inside to be welcomed by a cosy open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area.

You will instantly notice how original features from the 19th-century building such as the exposed stone walls and beams have blended with contemporary cottage-style décor to create a homely feel, with underfloor heating as an added bonus. At the heart of the room is a wood burner, perfect for snuggling up in front of to enjoy a DVD or good book.

Upstairs, you will find the two relaxing bedrooms (one double and one twin) with cool, calm tones and a range of country-style furniture creating a simple, but stylish feel.
