Other coastal villages and towns within easy reach include Burton Bradstock (4 miles), Charmouth (13 miles) and Lyme Regis (16 miles), and, heading inland, Dorchester (14.5 miles) which is renowned for its links with Thomas Hardy. Local attractions include Mapperton House and Gardens (12 miles), the Kingston Russell Stone Circle (7 miles) and Coney's Castle (14 miles).
