Its position within the national park makes it an excellent base for exploration too. Don't miss the stunning waterfalls at Aysgarth or Semer Water – the largest natural lake in the county – which are both 4 miles away.

For a change of scene, Leyburn – Lower Wensleydale's main market town – is 12 miles away. Much-loved for its independent shops, traditional pubs and antiques shops, it hosts a weekly farmers' market and is the starting point for rides on the heritage Wensleydale Railway.
