Take a picnic to enjoy in the orchard, and potter around the rose garden. Head to the coast at Whitby (21.5 miles) and Sandsend (24 miles), and visit Ravenscar (14.5 miles). Go to Pickering for a ride on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (14 miles) and head out for walks from your doorstep around the forest and country lanes.
