Aysgarth Falls (17 miles) and Bolton Castle (15 miles) are both popular with tourists, or you can wander around Richmond Deer Park (15.5 miles) for a peaceful afternoon out.

There's a golf course in Bedale (4 miles) and, for the children, Lightwater Valley Family Adventure is 12.5 miles away.
