Follow the South West Coast Path to Challaborough Beach (1.5 miles), a sheltered horseshoe cove with a wide expanse of fine sand or stride out towards beautiful Salcombe (14 miles), with its luxury boutiques and fine-dining restaurants.

Experience the magic of Burgh Island (2.5 miles) and the atmospheric scenery that once inspired Agatha Christie. The chic accommodation, in the grounds of the owner's home, is decorated in a contemporary style, with an eclectic mix of accessories and little nautical nods to the property's fantastic seaside location.

The owner is an artist in residence and his fabulous paintings bring vibrancy and colour to each room. The open-plan lounge/diner is a sociable space, with comfy sofas to relax on and admire the distant sea views and a large dining table to enjoy mealtimes together. Doors lead from here to the outside decked area.

This peaceful spot, with sun loungers and outdoor furniture, is the ideal place to unwind with a glass of wine and soak up a little bit of Devon sunshine. As well as Challaborough Beach, you'll also be within easy reach of the magnificent Hope Cove (9.5 miles), which has two family-friendly beaches.

Both beaches are backed by dramatic red sandstone cliffs, and the sheltered cove provides wonderful bathing opportunities in the sparkling turquoise water. The tidal Burgh Island is teeming with wildlife and is a fantastic place to blow away the cobwebs and appreciate the sheer beauty of the South Devon coastline.

If you pick just one walk, make it along the South West Coast Path to Salcombe. Thought by many to be the most beautiful stretch of the 630-mile trail, you'll be absolutely mesmerised by the views.
