Woolacombe (5 miles) offers some cracking surfing, while the South West Coast Path, which runs through Illfracombe, offers a different perspective of the North Devon shoreline. If you can tear yourselves from the beach, Exmoor National Park offers mountain bike trails, endless footpaths, sea kayaking and, at night, some of the most amazing skygazing opportunities you're likely to find in the UK.
