Accommodation details

This cosy, characterful holiday home is a blissful place for a retreat for two. Ideally located between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks as well as the North Pennines National Landscape, a wealth of outdoor adventure awaits in every direction. What's more, at the end of each day, you'll love returning home to the charming features of this property, with a quaint wood burner, exposed beams and warm lighting creating the ultimate atmosphere for relaxation.

The retreat is reached via a flight of external stairs. At the heart of the property is the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which enjoys plenty of natural light from the skylights and large windows. Styled with a country theme and filled with soft seating, it'll encourage you to kick back and make the most of the time you have with your loved one.

What's more, the kitchen and dining table ensure you have everything you need to cook up meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Down a set of steep stairs, the bedroom is furnished with a super-king-size bed beneath a beautiful, beamed ceiling, paired with an en-suite shower room. Outside, you can spend time in the shared gardens when the sun is shining.

The market town of Kirkby Stephen lies just 4 miles away, home to a 12th-century church, the Cathedral of the Dales which is steeped in history and well worth a visit, as well as a range of eateries for an afternoon treat. For an active but not too challenging day out, travel to Great Asby Scar (8 miles) and you can climb to the summit, just 412 metres above sea level, and take in the panoramic views of this truly stunning area.

Visit Haweswater (23 miles) for a romantic stroll beside the tranquil waterway and keep your eyes peeled for the rare local wildlife inhabiting the area.
