Accommodation details

A cosy couple's hideaway, this characterful retreat is part of a small group of properties lying within an ancient hilltop castle-ringwork, enjoying stunning rural views of the idyllic Monmouthshire countryside. Offering fresh and relaxing accommodation for up to two guests, the delightful single-level hideaway has a welcoming wood burner and extensive grounds.

Located on the far side of the owner's sub-medieval house, this traditional stone-built former dairy and oak joinery has been beautifully updated to make a fantastic base for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers discovering the glorious surroundings, with the Brecon Beacons to the west and the Wye Valley to the east. Entering this cheerful cottage you will find the light-filled open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with dual aspect windows and ample space for you to unwind in.

The property also has a generous king-size bedroom which has been tastefully decorated in light, soothing shades, with a handy en-suite bathroom.

Two steps lead down into the garden which has a pretty lawn and a patio with a BBQ, firepit and outdoor furniture. The grounds also feature a moat and a hammock in the orchard, with an elevated bank offering views towards the Brecon Beacons. The cottage is surrounded by 21 acres of beautiful meadows and woodland, offering tranquil walks with glorious views across the Monmouthshire countryside, with chances to spot deer, nightjars and hares.
