Outside, there's a large paved patio area with seating and a small summerhouse, so fire up the BBQ and round off your beach day with sundowners and maybe some delicious sizzling grilled mackerel, in fine seaside style. Because of the famous North Cornish light and landscape, there's a great tradition of local artists; they are showcased in many local galleries and at the Tate St Ives Gallery, 10 miles away.

Hayle centre is 1 mile away on foot and has great shops and restaurants. For a different style of beach, Portreath, 10 miles away, lies between sheltering cliffs. Famous for its Atlantic swells, be sure to try your hand at surfing whilst in North Cornwall too. Or, visit spectacular St Michael's Mount, via picturesque Marazion in the very different landscape of the south coast, 11 miles away.
