Carmarthenshire

The county of Carmarthenshire is located in the south west of Wales and is known as the 'Garden of Wales'.

The National Botanic Garden of Wales is a Botanical Garden located in Llanarthney in the River Tywi valley and features the world's largest single-span glasshouse, measuring 110m long by 60m wide. The garden is both a visitor attraction and a centre for botanical research and conservation.

The three largest towns are Llanelli, Carmarthen and Ammanford.

Carmarthen Castle was first built in the early 1100s by the Sheriff of Gloucester and was captured and destroyed many times before being rebuit in the 1190s.
