From the hamlet of Kentmere, a path leads to the mountain peaks of Thornthwaite Crag, Froswick, High Street, Mardale Ill Bell and Harter Fell. This delightful, detached cottage has exposed beams and is set in a peaceful valley location.

There is a small boot room for muddy boots and coats at the entrance. Head into the farmhouse-style kitchen and discover a charming place to enjoy candlelit dinners with a large wooden dining table, seating and vintage wall hangings. In the inviting lounge, settle into one of the stylish sofas or armchairs around the inglenook fireplace with a roaring wood burner for cooler nights.

A smart TV and cosy rugs ensure that the lounge is a place to relax. Stairs lead up from the hallway to a king-size bedroom with antique furniture and magnificent views of the valley. Alternatively, spend the day in Kendal (9 miles) and shop or visit the art galleries, theatre or cinema.
