Approached via a long driveway from the quaint village of Niton Undercliff on the south coast of the island, this cottage is located on one side of a large courtyard, detached from the main house. This peaceful property, built of Island stone, dates back to the 1800's and is surrounded by several acres of private garden, with lush lawns rolling down towards the sea, offering spectacular views.

This area is a haven for keen walkers, with a short walk to the coastal path which extends to The Needles. It’s great for spotting wildlife as there’s an abundance on this part of the island. There are wonderful welcoming pubs in Niton which serve home cooked meals. A short car drive away is the sandy beach of Ventnor, and many smaller beaches and coves within easy reach. This cottage has been decorated and furnished with care and attention to detail throughout, offering an aesthetic that cleverly fuses countryside and coastal styles.

Many original features have been retained, including the flagstone floor in the hall, which you’ll notice as you step into the house. There’s a large lounge with windows overlooking the courtyard and TV/DVD - a perfect spot to unwind after a busy day exploring. We regret it is not possible to use the wood burner in the lounge.

The open-plan kitchen/diner is equipped with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. The Aga is only for use in the colder winter months. There’s also a large dining table with ample space for the whole party. It has three charming bedrooms for a good night’s sleep, plus there’s a bathroom with a shower, and a separate WC.

Step out onto the terrace from the main bedroom and enjoy the views across the courtyard to the gardens and sea. Guests can also follow a path through the gorgeous larger gardens of the main house to secluded spots, including a place where children can run around and play games. (Please be aware that there are two ponds in the gardens, so children need close supervision).

Off-road parking is available for two cars - one in the garage and another in the adjoining courtyard.
