Wander through the village, browsing the independent stores and feasting on one of the famous Lochinver pies; watch the fishermen unload their catches at the busy harbour and pick up a souvenir in the Highland Stoneware pottery.

Hire a kayak and take to the clear waters of Loch Inver (3 miles) for a paddle around the tiny islands that dot the loch or head inland for a hike up Stac Pollaidh (16.5 miles) to be rewarded with magnificent views across the Highlands. This traditional white-washed cottage has a warm and welcoming feel to it, with soft neutral tones and wooden details to complement the surrounding open countryside.

Stripped floors, exposed ceiling beams and a warming wood burner make the cottage an inviting space to relax in and forget the stresses and strains of everyday life.
