Alternatively, push open the patio doors and let Fido roam in the garden while you catch up on some holiday reading. A neat kitchen overlooks the lounge and come dinnertime there's a sociable dining table with seating for four people. The two double bedrooms are located off from the living area. Served by a well-appointed shower room, both bedrooms are light and breezy with plenty of storage space.

Outside, there's plenty of space to unwind. Children can play table tennis in the games room or play fetch with Fido on the extensive lawn. A garden arch also leads to a pretty seating area; surrounded by hedges and colourful plants it's the perfect spot for an alfresco meal or peaceful evening drink.

Stokesley is a charming market town on the River Leven and offers plenty of independent shops and dog-friendly pubs and eateries. Stroll along the river or explore the surrounding countryside on foot or bike. The more energetic can head to Roseberry Topping (4 miles) and follow the path to the summit where you'll be rewarded with sweeping views out to the North Sea.
