Entering this inviting cottage, the airy lounge is a lovely space to snuggle up and unwind in, with plenty of seating, an inset wood burner and a TV.

The dining area is perfect for sharing a romantic meal for two, which you can rustle up in the traditional and fully equipped kitchen which also has views towards Bracken Fells. Exploring this spacious, light and welcoming single-level cottage further, there's a pretty king-size bedroom with a built-in wardrobe and en-suite WC as well as a stylish shower room.

Heading outside, the patio area has seating so you can settle back with a glass of wine in the evening and take in the views. Outgate has a friendly pub and some wonderful walks with both Tarn Hows and Blelham Tarn nearby (both 2.5 miles). The bustling village of Hawkshead (1 mile) has plenty of great places to eat and drink and is home to Wordsworth's Old Grammar School and the Beatrix Potter Gallery.

To the east, climbers and walkers can head to Latterbarrow (2.5 miles) and Claife Heights (6 miles) or take in the views over Windermere from Wray Castle (2.5 miles) and the Claife Viewing Station (5 miles). Esthwaite Water is to the south (2 miles) with Coniston Water to the south-west (3.5 miles).
