Accommodation details

Set in 9 acres of glorious countryside, this stylish and sophisticated, 19th-century barn is the ultimate romantic retreat, perfect for couples keen to explore Snowdonia National Park and the dramatic countryside, historic towns and pretty villages North Wales is famous for. Flooded with plenty of natural sunlight, embrace wonderful rural views from the comfort of the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner at the heart of this home-from-home.

Boasting neutral hues that perfectly blend into the colours of the local landscape, a roaring feature wood burner and stylish homely touches, this endlessly cosy space is as ambient as it is warming, beckoning tired travellers to unwind and dine well after sunset. On a fine evening, throw open the patio doors to relax to the sound of birdsong carried through the breeze.

The double bedroom is an oasis of calm to retire to after washing off a day on the trails in the elegant en-suite shower room. Outside, dine alfresco with a glass of something chilled on the patio before venturing around the 9 acres of shared grounds; a games barn, wildlife sanctuary, large natural lake and wildflower meadow await to be discovered.

This picturesque spot between Corwen and Betws-y-Coed offers the perfect base for exploring Snowdonia National Park (9 miles), with the market town of Bala (8.5 miles) home to a great range of shops, pubs, and restaurants to enjoy. Discover Bala Lake 10 miles away, the largest natural body of water in Wales, and try out various water sports such as fishing, sailing, canoeing, windsurfing and white-water rafting, or spot the unique Gwyniad fish, a relic of the Ice Age.

Starting from Llanuwchllyn 14 miles away, keen walkers can venture up and stroll through the excellent linear walk to the two major summits of Aran Fawddwy and Aran Benllyn.
