Stroll into the gorgeous barn, with its exposed stone walls, high vaulted ceiling and timber beams, to discover the welcoming, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner.

Relax in here with your book for a while, watch the TV/DVD together at the end of each busy day and open the doors to let the fresh air in. Cook delicious dinner in the kitchen area, which has an oil-fired Rayburn, then sit down to eat inside or out. As night falls, wander on through to the comfortable, double bedroom with its en-suite bathroom.

Sit outside on sunny mornings to enjoy your coffee or breakfast on the shared patio at your leisure. Light the BBQ to cook supper outdoors in the evening; enquire about fishing in the lakes or river. Venture about 13 miles to reach the edge of Dartmoor National Park, with its many places to walk, cycle or go horse riding, or 6 miles to the fringes of Bodmin Moor, with its dramatic landscape.

Drive 18 miles to Boscastle to pick up the South West Coast Path along the clifftops and past rocky coves. Visit Tintagel Castle, 20 miles away, famous for its connections to the legend of King Arthur. Climb down to the beach and see Merlin's cave too when the tide is out while you are here.
