When you're ready to retire for the evening, bright and fresh bedrooms (with wooden furniture giving a touch of warmth) await, a double and a single. A bathroom with a shower over the bath provides ample space to freshen up each morning. Straight from the door, you can head out and enjoy countryside and estuary walks, or if you want a fixed destination at the end of your stroll, why not head down to the village alehouse? In just two miles, you could be within the walls of Pembroke town, with its Norman castle and eateries a plenty.

If the weather's agreeable, visit Manorbier Beach (8 miles) to build sandcastles, frolic in the waves or have a surf. And if you've brought your plus fours with you, head to South Pembrokeshire Golf Club which benefits from stunning views over the River Cleddau.
