Settle in the elegant lounge with a cup of tea or a glass of wine to watch TV, read your books or chat about your day. The sofa here can be pulled out and transformed into an extra bed. Whip up tasty meals with the fresh Welsh and Herefordshire produce you have bought on your trips out, then enjoy a tranquil meal together.

When day turns to night, wander through to the lavishly decorated king-size bedroom to indulge in a truly restful sleep. Venture 12.5 miles to Hatterall Ridge and pick up the long-distance Offa’s Dyke Path, which follows much of the border between England and Wales.

Plan a day out to the famous book town of Hay-on-Wye, 17 miles away. Wander around the colourful shops, hire canoes on the river and venture into Bannau Brycheiniog from here.
