Keswick, Cumbria - Sleeps 4

Accommodation details

With a good range of independent shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants and even a cinema and theatre, Keswick is a bustling town, just perfect for an afternoon of retail therapy. Spend the day exploring Derwentwater by steamer or rowing boat; tackle the climb up Scafell Pike, England's highest mountain or take an underground tour at Honister Slate Mine, 9 miles away.

Outdoor enthusiasts can while away the hours kayaking, sailing and swimming while the mountains of Catbells, the Coledale Horseshoe and Skiddaw offer walking, mountain biking and climbing all within 8 miles. 5 miles away, Whinlatter Forest Park has mountain biking trails for all abilities, while the ancient Castlerigg Stone Circle sits just above the town and is well worth a visit.

17 miles away is Penrith, the largest town in the area, with both independent and high street shops, and many cafes, pubs and restaurants. An immaculate ground-floor apartment, the light and elegant decor is warmed with champagne carpets and local artwork giving a warm luxurious feel throughout. With accommodation all on one level, enter through the glass porch leaving any muddy boots behind after a day on the fells.

Hang your coat in the hallway and head through to the open-plan kitchen/diner. Spacious and bright, several windows allow light to flood in. The wooden kitchen is equipped with a double fan oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. The dining area has a wooden table for four, perfect for sociable mealtimes.

Here there is a washing machine and dryer in a cupboard, and a further storage cupboard houses an under-counter freezer. The living room has a large window offering lovely views towards the fells. After a busy day, relax with a good book on the comfortable sofas and, in chilly weather, switch on the electric fire and snuggle down with a film on the TV.

Both bedrooms are elegant and bright with beautiful soft furnishings. The master double bedroom has a built-in wardrobe, oak cabinets and a dresser while the super-king-size bedroom has built-in wardrobes and zip-and-link beds which can be made up as a twin bed upon request. The shower room has a spacious corner shower. Outside, there is a shared garden which is laid to lawn with trees and shrubs, an ideal spot for children to play in or adults to sit and relax on summer evenings.

There is off-road parking for one car.
