Kendal, Cumbria - Sleeps 4

Accommodation details

This is a traditional barn conversion on a working farm in the heart of Longsleddale. The Barn sleeps four to five people in three bedrooms and enjoys uninterrupted views of the surrounding countryside. There is a double and two single bedrooms with an additional z-bed for an extra person. The property is perfect for a secluded, relaxing break being located 0.9 miles along a private track.

The River Sprint flows through the farm and fishing can be arranged by the owner. In the autumn, you can watch the spectacle of leaping salmon and trout in the river. At the head of the valley, you can climb the Haweswater fells including High Street and Harter Fell. Kendal is 20 minutes away by car.

The town is considered to be the southern gateway to the Lake District and the guide book writer Alfred Wainwright wrote his Pictorial Guides whilst living in Kendal. Kendal offers varied shopping and a fantastic arts centre showing everything from comedy to films and exhibitions. There is a step to the side door that opens into the open-plan living area.

There is a lounge area with a TV and video player, CD radio and a dining table and chairs. There is also a wood burner-effect electric fire for additional cosiness. The kitchen is open plan to the lounge featuring an electric oven and hob, under-counter fridge and separate under-counter freezer, washing machine and microwave.

The fuse box is in the cupboard by the back door. A small inner hallway leads to the bedrooms, there is one double and two single bedrooms. The family shower room has a shower, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail. A travel cot is available. Outside there is an enclosed patio with table and chairs taking in the beautiful setting.

The river runs through the surrounding beautiful landscape of farmland and fells. Fishing rights can be arranged with the owner. During autumn the leaping trout and salmon can be seen in the river. There is plentiful walking available on the footpaths running through the farmland.
