Known as the Adventure Capital of England, you can spend days exploring all that Keswick has to offer. The bustling market town has plenty of exhilarating activities and caters for rainy days with museums, The Puzzling Place and the cinema within half a mile from your door. Board a boat from the local launch and head out across Derwentwater for a fun, family-friendly day out and hop on and off to visit the lakeside villages and scenic spots such as Catbells (5 miles by road), Lodore Falls (4 miles) and Portinscale (2 miles).

Dine out and treat yourselves to a night off from being chef and complete your evening with a show at the Theatre by the Lake (1 mile). Make your way inside this period home with Georgian charm and head into the hallway. With space to store shoes and coats on your return from days out, the hallway is full of character and quirk and the floor is uneven in places.

Take a small step down to the kitchen where you will find a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric oven with gas hob, a microwave and a tumble dryer. Plate up at the table in the dining room which is heated by a coal-effect gas fire. Locate the washing machine by the back door and find a shower room with WC.

A handy ground-floor bedroom with a double bed. Upstairs, the spacious and light, dual aspect lounge has a coal-effect gas fire to keep you warm as you switch off in front of the TV/DVD. Sink into the comfortable sofas to unwind in style. The next bedroom is a double room that resides on this floor along with a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and a separate WC.

To find the remaining bedroom, ascend steep stairs and find yourself on the top floor which commands staggering views. The twin bedroom is a tranquil space yet has restricted head room due to a sloping ceiling and exposed beams. From this room you have views of Grisedale Pike and Catbells. Take your morning tea or coffee outside and sit in the paved yard with a picnic table – perfect for starting your day with a breath of fresh air.
