The friendly market town of Penrith (4 miles) offers a fabulous range of shops, restaurants and pubs, with attractions including the Penrith and Eden Museum and the remains of Penrith Castle. Other local attractions include Hutton-in-the-Forest (5.5 miles), Dalemain Mansion and Historic Gardens (8 miles) and Lowther Castle and Gardens (11 miles).
