For those looking for a spot of shopping, visit one of Europe’s largest retail parks at Westwood Cross (2 miles), whilst for keen walkers the Viking Coastal Trail runs from Ramsgate around the Kent coastline to Herne Bay taking in the pretty towns of Margate (5 miles) with its famous Turner Contemporary Gallery, and Broadstairs known for its connections to Charles Dickens.
