One of two respectfully converted stables in the pretty village of Aislaby, this charming accommodation is a wonderful spot for a Yorkshire getaway. Enjoy long walks or cycle rides through the North York Moors, or if you fancy a day by the beach, head to the vibrant seaside town of Whitby (3.5 miles).

With its three bedrooms sleeping six, this attractive holiday home is ideal for a small family or group of friends who adore the Great Outdoors. The cottage has a charming rustic-style decor with plenty of colour. Natural light streams through skylights for a warm and welcoming glow. Everything is laid out over a single level, starting with the heart of the home – the large kitchen/diner, which has elegant wooden units and a large central table for tucking into meals together.

The lounge is furnished with comfortable sofas and, with its Smart TV, offers the perfect spot for evening relaxation. Outside, you'll have shared access to a courtyard that's divided into two separate areas. BBQs and sunbeds are provided so you can kick back and make the most of sunny days. Beyond the courtyard, guests are encouraged to explore the owner's fields, leading down to a meadow where you can lay out a picnic blanket and listen to the local wildlife.

You'll have a welcoming pub 200 metres away – wonderful for absorbing the friendly local atmosphere over a pint of something yummy (and a port in a storm if you don't feel like cooking!). In Whitby, go back in time at the museum, enjoy a round of golf or climb the 199 famed steps to the ancient abbey, perched atop the cliffs and with breathtaking panoramic views.

On the edge of Whitby, near the impressive Larpool Viaduct, cyclists can join the Cinder Track, a 22-mile route to Scarborough.
