The outer old-world charm of this picturesque Satterthwaite cottage extends to the interior, where you will be transported to an earlier age by the rugged slate-flagged flooring.
Exposed stonework, wooden lintels, oak furnishings, and beams in the comfortable bedrooms all combine to give you that true Lakeland cottage experience. The hamlet of Force Forge, on the fringes of the forest of Grizedale, is gloriously isolated, and yet still only a short stroll from a village pub, the Eagle's Head at Satterthwaite.
There is nothing more welcome than a pint here, some food, or one of the regular gigs of live music after a day exploring the walking trails of the beautiful forest, taking on the nearby Go Ape adventure course, or climbing the high peaks of the Lake District round about. With wood-burning stoves in the living-room and the country dining kitchen, you will always be cosy, even when the winter snows are falling about the cottage, and on fine days, the little garden, with its patio and stone stairway leading down to the river, is the perfect place to sit out and soak in the peace and fresh air of this idyllic corner of Lakeland.
