Fern Bank Cottage is a stunning property, set in a peaceful location, yet close to the shores of Lake Windermere and the heart of bustling Bowness. The cottage has been tastefully furnished throughout, with two well sized bedrooms, modern bathroom and luxury slate-tiled wet room. From the entrance hall, guests will find a charming and cosy sitting room with feature fireplace, superbly comfortable sofa and chairs, TV and bookcase full of games and DVDs.
This is a lovely room in which to relax and unwind. The dining room doubles as a second reception room, perfect for enjoying a coffee and catch up while planning the next day’s itinerary. Through to the modern and well-equipped kitchen with access to the courtyard patio, ideal for enjoying a drink before supper.
Nearby Bowness is a lively village offering a wide range of interesting shops, excellent restaurants and charming tea rooms. For those in search of culture, the Old Laundry Theatre and quirky Royalty Cinema are absolute favourites. Not far away is Blackwell, The Arts and Crafts House and its range of fascinating exhibitions. Take a stroll to the lake and there is plenty to watch and enjoy.
Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly for Ambleside and Lakeside and there are row boats and power boats to hire. Not far away is a wonderful car ferry crossing close to Beatrix Potter’s famous Hill Top and the picturesque village of Hawkshead. Grizedale Forrest is just over the water, extremely popular with walkers and mountain bikers alike.
