The facilities and attractions of one of the areas most celebrated villages, Coniston, are just outside your door, and the finest of hill scenery wraps itself around you while the serene beauty of Coniston Water is laid invitingly beside you. Your party will surely enjoy a day cruising the lake on the famous Gondola steam-launch, and for more energetic times there are exceptional water-sport opportunities, including many types of craft for hire at the lake shore.

We also suggest a day pony trekking at Spoon Hall, particularly attractive to children, while the walking possibilities announce themselves very clearly to your eyes; Coniston Old Man, one of the best loved fell walks in the Lakes towers over the little slate village. Rose Cottage itself is full of wonderful character features, including the traditional low ceilings and lovely stained-glass window by the stairwell.
