The open-plan living space is cleverly designed to suit a variety of moods and uses. Whilst the vaulted ceilings and French doors leading out onto the patio make for bright and airy summer living, the cosy sofas and gas fire embrace a family night in with a favourite DVD - or even a sing-song around the piano, should you be musically inclined.

Beyond the private enclosed garden, the shared grounds extend further, providing ample space to let off steam. Just under a mile away is the pretty fishing village of Polperro with its tidal sea pool for rockpooling and plenty of small shops and cafes to explore. Looe, another historic fishing port, is 4 miles away but has a larger, sandy beach and opportunities to visit Looe Island, a marine nature reserve with a resident seal colony.

The indoor rainforest at The Eden Project is also less than a 20-mile drive.
