Hay-on-Wye, Powys - Sleeps 8

Accommodation details

Enjoy far-reaching views across the Black Mountains from almost every window of this delightful family-friendly retreat located on the fringes of Clyro. Boasting countless footpaths beginning from the doorstep, this is the ultimate getaway for those looking to reconnect with the great outdoors. Where rustic charm and contemporary touches coexist in perfect harmony, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner offers the perfect social space to unwind and dine with loved ones.

The high vaulted ceiling and gorgeous Velux windows create a sense of space whilst the sumptuous soft furnishings and roaring wood burner set the scene for pure relaxation. Boasting more stunning exposed beams and soothing neutral hues, the second lounge is as cosy as it is ambient. There are five bedrooms on offer, two en-suite super-king-size, one double and two singles, one of which is tucked away in the eaves, that all feature the same serene atmosphere as the rest of the barn.

From sunrise to sunset, the enclosed courtyard is a haven of tranquillity; children and playful pups can let off steam on the lawn as you dine alfresco on the patio. You'll find pure peace and tranquillity in the sleepy village of Clyro, yet you're not completely secluded from the outside world; the market town of Hay-on-Wye can be reached within 2 miles.

Discover Hay-on-Wye's excellent selection of quirky local shops, cafes and restaurants along with a weekly farmers market showcasing seasonal local produce. With its unique position on the border between England and Wales, lose yourself in some wonderful scenery as you join walks including Offa's Dyke at the foot of the Black Mountains and the Wye Valley Walk which both run through the town.

While away an afternoon skimming stones and watching canoeists paddle the gentle rapids of the riverside beach The Warren 2.5 miles away.
