Old and new blend perfectly in this fabulous holiday escape and, as you step through the front door (and down one step) into the lounge, you'll find impressive beams, an apex ceiling and an exposed-stone wall, hinting at the property's interesting history. The decor is firmly up to date, however, and includes comfortable seating, a dramatic chandelier and a Smart TV for streaming your favourite shows.

There's a striking wooden floor throughout, as well as elegant window treatments and soft furnishings. The layout flows through to a kitchen/diner which is equipped with all mod cons, including a microwave and a dishwasher, plus a coffee machine for those essential morning cuppas. Two elegant bedrooms are set on the same level, both with ample storage and sharing a sleek family bathroom.

For relaxing in the fresh air, head to the bench seat in the enclosed courtyard outside, which is shared with neighbouring properties but has a screen for privacy. The cottage is located on the outskirts of the Peak District and less than 1 mile from the town of New Mills, where you'll find a variety of shops as well as a choice of places to eat and drink.

The Sett Valley Trail offers gorgeous vistas of the Dark Peak for hikers and cyclists, while if you fancy some culture the National Trust's Lyme is only 4.5 miles away.
