Outdoor lovers will find plenty to amuse them too, with gorgeous walks in the Northumberland National Park including at Linhope Spout Waterfall (11.5 miles). If you’re keen to discover the region’s nature, head to Seahouses Harbour (18 miles) and hop on a boat to the Farne Islands.
