Cwmdu, Powys - Sleeps 4

Accommodation details

Located in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this charming cottage seamlessly blends original features such as exposed beams and wooden flooring with modern updates creating a perfect holiday home for couples and families. To the south, the market town of Crickhowell (7 miles) is a brilliant day out with its historic castle, foodie hot spots and great walking routes, ensuring something for everyone.

Entering through the stable door, you'll be welcomed into the hall, leading through to the light, bright living room. Decorated with wooden pieces of furniture and two soft leather sofas, this space encourages guests to kick back and relax at the end of each day. The kitchen is modern with a country style, ensuring you'll have everything you need during your stay, including a washing machine and dishwasher for convenience.

Adjoining the kitchen is the dining area which features a table seating four and a pretty spiral staircase leading upstairs. The bedrooms can be found on the first floor, including a tastefully styled double with matching furniture and a characterful twin which is ideal for children. Completing the property is the contemporary shower room with a double shower.

The garden is enclosed, making it safe for dogs and children, featuring a picnic table for the days when you fancy dining alfresco. Those in search of adventure may wish to climb 596 metres to the peak of the Sugar Loaf Mountain (13 miles) where awe-inspiring views can be enjoyed from the summit. Just 14 miles north is the literary-lovers town of Hay-on-Wye, filled with beautiful bookshops and quaint cafes, making it an idyllic spot for a leisurely afternoon activity.

For a fun-filled day of water sports, head to Llandegfedd Reservoir (27 miles) and you'll be able to hire paddleboards, pedalos, canoes and more to explore the haven for nature from the water.
