Arrive, pull in with ease, and take a moment to notice how every room frames a view, whether it is treetops and passing animals or greenery just beyond the glass.

An open-plan living space awaits you downstairs, designed for unhurried days together, with the kitchen, dining area, and sitting area flowing as one. When the weather turns, the woodburning stove becomes the natural heart of the room, ideal for lingering over a board game after supper or settling in with a favourite programme on the television.

The kitchen is set up for proper self-catering, and the utility keeps the practicalities tucked neatly away so the main space stays focused on holiday living. As the day winds down, choose from four bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite walk-in shower, a double, and two twin rooms, offering flexible arrangements for families or friends sharing.

For fresh starts, there is a ground-floor shower room and a family bathroom with a bath and shower over, making mornings easy when everyone is eager to head out. Outside, the enclosed garden invites you to stretch the day a little longer, with a patio for meals outdoors, a lawn for play, a barbecue for simple feasts, and a fire-pit for evenings under the open sky, plus table tennis for a dash of friendly competition.

A shop and pub sit within easy reach, while the surrounding New Forest landscape sets the scene for days out. Head to Lyndhurst to browse the New Forest Heritage Centre and wander the village streets, or visit Beaulieu for the National Motor Museum and its celebrated collection. Brought the kids? Treat them to a fun-filled day at Paultons Park Home of Peppa Pig World! For a coastal change of pace, spend time in Lymington, exploring the harbour and enjoying a stroll through the town’s galleries and museums.

However you plan your days, Ivy Cottage makes a welcoming base to return to each evening.
