For long sandy beaches head to Morpeth and Wooler, and for good shops and leisure facilities head out to Berwick-upon-Tweed. Lovers of the outdoor life will enjoy walking, cycling, and hiking in Glendale, Northumberland’s National Park, and the Cheviot Hills. Northumberland is also home to the Dark Skies National Park, Europe’s largest area of protected sky.
