Dining can be enjoyed either inside or out, making full use of the sloped, landscaped garden that's enclosed for security and a fantastic addition when the sun shines. Back indoors, notice a downstairs WC on your way up to three appealing bedrooms on the first floor. Get to know the AONB landscape of the Wye Valley with a walk along the River Wye (1 mile), soaking up the best of the scenery and views as you follow it along to the Welsh border town of Monmouth (9.5 miles).

Here you'll find a fantastic castle, an independent theatre and plenty of shops and eateries offering the very best of South Wales. Just over the border, you can visit The Kymin (7 miles), an 18th-century Welsh roundhouse with fabulous pleasure grounds all around it, maintained by the National Trust.
