Pooley Bridge (1.5mls E), Cumbria - Sleeps 6

Accommodation details

This traditional house set in the beautiful Lake District National Park and overlooking fields and fells, is perfect for friends or a family looking for an active holiday. The pretty village of Pooley Bridge (1.5 miles) is on the River Eamont and walkers can take the boat from Pooley Bridge to Howtown, walk to Glenridding and return by boat.

It was one of Wordsworth's favourite walks and offers views of Ullswater and Helvellyn. As you enter this stunning home, you come into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, a social space with sofas, a Smart TV, a cosy wood burner and original beams. The kitchen has everything you need for a hearty breakfast or a shared dinner, and a Smart TV.

From the lounge, you can access the sunroom with its breathtaking views, stone flooring, and seating, perfect to relax after a long walk. As well as breathtaking views, this room is a great place to curl up with a good book or glass of wine! At the bottom of the stairs in the hallway is a bathroom. Upstairs, there's a second bathroom and two steps lead to the main landing.

Here you'll find three beautiful bedrooms – one double, one king-size and one twin, all with lovely countryside views. The pretty, enclosed garden is accessible from either the sunroom or lounge and has a patio, BBQ and seating area for al fresco dining on fine evenings! Finally, sink into the hot tub and enjoy the view.

Enjoy a day at Dalemain Mansion and Historic Gardens (5 miles) where you can take dogs on the walk to Dacre, or visit Aira Force Waterfall (8 miles), set amongst ancient woodland and landscaped glades, or explore Ullswater (6 miles).
